Custom InVisia P3.9 Holographic LED Display Installed on Curved Glass for A.P.C Retail Store

Project Overview

InVisia recently completed a transparent LED installation for an A.P.C fashion store, delivering a high-clarity P3.9 holographic display measuring 2.348 m (W) × 2.75 m (H). The LED panels were mounted directly onto the storefront glass in a horizontal layout, while the power boxes were positioned vertically on both sides to preserve a clean, premium retail appearance.

Using a direct-on-glass mounting approach, the transparent panels blend naturally into the facade. When powered off, the display remains virtually invisible and maintains full storefront transparency; when powered on, it delivers bright, vivid content that attracts attention from passing customers.

Key Challenges

  1. Non-standard Size Requirements

The on-site dimensions deviated from standard module sizes, requiring custom cutting to match the storefront frame precisely.

  2. Curved Glass Surface

The glass facade was not flat. Its curvature demanded accurate alignment and reliable joining between panels to ensure stability and uniform visual performance.

  3. Minimal Visible Structure

All fixing elements had to remain discreet, maintaining A.P.C’s minimalist architectural style.

Our Solutions

1. Precision-Cut P3.9 Panel Customization

To match the curved storefront and avoid visible gaps, InVisia engineered a mixed-panel configuration:

  • Standard P3.9 panels: 250 × 1200 mm
  • Custom-length P3.9 panels: 250 × 1106 mm

This combination ensured a perfect fit while preserving structural strength and consistent pixel pitch across the entire display.

2. Horizontal Splicing for Curved Glass Alignment

Because transparent LED panels cannot be bent vertically, we adopted a horizontal splicing method.

  • The top panels were fixed to glass using high-strength transparent adhesive.
  • Mechanical clips were applied at panel joints to lock adjacent modules together.

This method maintained stable alignment along the curved surface while ensuring optical consistency from every viewing angle.

3.Minimalist Structural Fixing for a Clean Look

To keep all hardware visually discreet, we recommended mounting the power boxes onto custom wooden blocks, which were then fixed to the glass. This concealed the wiring and supported the power units neatly, blending naturally into the store facade without disrupting the interior aesthetic.

Project Outcome

The A.P.C store now features a high-transparency, high-brightness holographic LED display that integrates seamlessly with its curved glass storefront. The installation enhances visual merchandising while preserving the clean architectural identity of the brand—achieving an ideal balance between performance and aesthetics.
